Gypsy Rose Lee's birthday is today.
She was born January 9, 1911. I love this 1942 photography of her at her wedding to Alexander Kirkland. It's the opposite of what we expect of her. I know when I think of Gypsy Rose Lee, I don't think covered up in black. It's almost demure. Gypsy Rose and Alexander would be married from 31 August 1942 until their divorce 7 October 1944.
