The main meal given by the lovely Leila Hyams (May 1 1905-December 4 1977) sounds delicious. Glazed ham, rolls, bread sticks, and sweet potatoes. I could definitely eat that. But then, it takes a sharp turn when it gets to the recipes. Crabmeat and Grapefruit Cocktail, Really Leila? I just couldn't.
Leila made her first film in 1924 and retired from acting in 1936
She was seen as a one of a kind actress - Beauty, tough but sweet, innocent yet sexy, intelligent yet attainable
She is probably best known for her role in the cult 1932 film Freaks. If you've never seen it, it's worth checking out once. I've never seen another film like it.
She was the original choice to play Jane in the Tarzan films, but Maureen O'Suliivan was eventually given the iconic role.
Check out this cute little ditty of Leila teaching Roland Young how to "play" the drums :)

Yummy! That is definitely one of the more normal (by modern standards) menus you've shared with us to date. I'm now craving sweet potatoes :D
Wishing you a lovely, tranquil Sunday,
♥ Jessica
I know her! HAha, from Freaks and nothing else really, but still. Thanks for the hint. ;)
