A long awaited thank you to
ithankyou blog
for the 7x7 award a few months ago. I flaked on this one, but I definitely appreciate it.
The 7x7 Award Rules:
1. Tell everyone 7 facts about you no one else knows
2. Link to one of 7 posts that you feel best fits the following categories: Most Beautiful Piece, Most Helpful Piece, Most Popular Piece, Most Controversial Piece, Most Surprisingly Successful Piece, Most Underrated Piece, and Most Pride-Worthy Piece
3. Pass this award to 7 other bloggers
I'm having problems thinking of things to tell everyone after these awards. Hope I haven't told these yet:
1. I got kicked out of my dorm room in college because I studied too much. To wrote my freshman roommate "We are more comfortable when you are gone", so I got kicked out and ended up having to beg everyone in my dorm until someone would put up with me. Who knew studying could get you in trouble?
2. When I get out of the shower, I sneeze twice.
3. I once burned my fingers on birthday candles. As a child, we would occasionally decorate our birthday cakes with suckers and as I went for one, I put my finger right through a candle. Thankfully, no lasting marks.
4. I can't take temperature extremes. I'm either roasting or freezing. I've been roasting since April.
5. I often wrote and performed my own plays as a child. Naturally, most involved me being a princess, but creative none the less.
6. As a child, I got kicked out of the Mall of America because my cousin spit while on the log ride.
7. My wingspan is 11" greater than my height. They are supposed to be equal.
O.K., now on to the 7 posts. This is pretty difficult because of the blog's format. I totally can't do it, so I'll just list my 7 favorites:
1. The series on Hollywood Undressed by the wonderful Madame Sylvia. Brought lots of followers and interest from all over the world.
2. The series on Famous Foods of Famous Stars from one of my first bits of vintage ephemera I bought. I learned a lot about some little known stars
3. My first attempt at Pin Curls. Turned out pretty good. I should definitely give it another try.
4. My first post. The one that started it all. It became the start of a wonderful adventure.
5. Summer cooling tips. Two years old, but very timely.
6. Some of my favorite recipes.
7. And Are You a Scarlet or a Melanie is pretty insightful into how I feel most days.
The 7 most popular posts on this blog. They really surprise me because they aren't generally my favorite stars. Ever since I started the stars that trend most are Elizabeth Taylor and Judy Garland - even before Liz's passing.
1. RIP Elizabeth Taylor - 13,974
2. Are Liz and Michael Wilding Headed for Splitsville - 11,024
3. What Kim Novak Wants in 1956 - 8,883
4. VHS Gems and Why Can't Tom Catch Jerry Already? - 4,690
5. What George Nader Wants in 1956 - 3,795
6. Monty Clift Crashes at Liz's House and Premiere Drama - 3,029
7. John Wayne Gets Hitched in Hawaii - 2,890
As to blogs, I've given basically every blog I follow an award at some time or another. I guess I consider all I follow winners.
